When MQM chief Altaf Hussain made his sudden call to the army to step in and take action against corrupt politicians and rapacious feudal lords he had, perhaps, not reckoned that his statement would draw such a sharp reaction from the country's major political parties.
Who will pull Pakistan out of trouble? This is the big question. Will it be the present regime or the politicians? Will the country emerge from disaster through the dedicated efforts of its citizens? Would the army be forced again to intervene? Or would we increase our dependence on foreign powers to stay afloat and further compromise our sovereignty?
